Weigl Control was privileged to contribute a wide range of show control and media playback for the spectacular rebirth of Piraten in Batavia at Germany’s Europa Park. The iconic dark ride’s new incarnation opened in July as a completely reimagined, immersive attraction filled with cutting edge technologies. Weigl unveiled its latest innovations on the flagship ProCommander® HX, now supporting advanced audio, AES-67 (RAVENNA AES67 network-based audio distribution (AoIP)), PTP sync, 16 universes of Art-Net and sACN and tightly synchronized animatronics connected via CANOpen and other emerging motion control technologies. Over 70 Weigl ProCommander® and Pro I/O™ controllers operate in tight network synchronization with AES-67 audio and lighting controls to provide a new benchmark in coordinated control for large dark rides. Weigl worked closely with partners such as Garner Holt Productions, who designed much of the show and produced most of its animatronics, LifeFormationsHofmann-FigurenSally Dark Rides, and Kraftwerk to breathe new life into a beloved, classic attraction.
